Italy - Figure in the Italian Landscape

+ More details

Description

This masterclass is designed for photographers who have moved beyond the basics. Central Italy, that is Tuscany, Umbria and the little known Latium, is an enchanting land of water. We have the Tyrrhenian Sea, Lakes Bolsena and Trasimene, several rivers often running in deep gorges and ravines; in fact you could not ask for a more delightful landscape in which to photograph the nude.
Patrick started shooting the nude in his studio using lights 30 years ago alongside his commercial work as an advertising and fashion photographer. For the last 20 years he has concentrated mainly on Nude in the Landscape near his home in Orvieto, Umbria. The nude gives a sense of scale to the landscape, or seascape, adding a lyrical quality. We use two models on separate days. See his portfolio here: www.photonicholas.com
Price is for a single person in a double room, but you may bring a non-photographer partner. Please write for more details. Two persons on the workshop sharing a room: €3,300 (1,650 per person).

We use models on this Masterclass. Italy has unique style and cuisine. Orvieto is not primarily a tourist city like Siena or San Gimignano, it is a place where you can experience the Italian way of life. But Italy also has hidden treasures for the photographer such as ruins from Etruscan times, the Middle Ages and Renaissance, to more recent abandoned industrial sites and deserted villas.

  • Very enjoyable talk. Beautiful photographs with entertaining but informative explanations and some personalised information about the women appearing in the photos. The Lisbon workshop I joined with PN was great - brilliant locations some completely off the tourist track with some unusual architectural forms and shapes to photograph. Very attentive teacher with great tips and knowledge. Highly recommended.

  • I really enjoyed the talk with Patrick. I love listening to how other photographers get their ideas and how they go about shooting. He was inspiring.
