Photo Safari - Team Building in the streets of Grenoble

+ More details

Description

This fun, team building activity is led by award winning photojournalist and clik-trip founder Suzanne Porter.

THE AIM
To strengthen relationships, stimulate creativity and allow each participant to improve their photographic skills in a relaxed spirit allowing every team member to give the best of themselves...

HOW THE ACTIVITY WORKS
A list of photos to be taken is handed out (themes can be chosen that are in line with the company’s branding and future objectives or they can be provided by clik-trip. Example of theme: energy). Some subjects are more difficult than others and participants are encouraged to think outside the box and be creative in their interpretation of the subjects. It's not just about taking a photo... It's about getting the best photo possible! Suzanne is on hand to give help and advice...
- A list of bonus items are also included which can earn the teams extra points!

BRIEFING (can take place in English and French.)
Introduction and briefing at the CLIK gallery (5 Boulevard Gambetta, Grenoble), including an explanation of exposure, composition and what makes a good photo, i.e. light, angles, reflections, etc., as well as a quick presentation of the free editing application Snapseed (it helps if participants have this downloaded before the event).
- Participants split into small groups (3-4 people).

PHOTO TOUR
- Teams are given a map of the area to be covered around the CLIK Gallery and time limit. It is up to the group to decide how they organise their teams. They either appoint one person as the photographer throughout the activity or every participant takes photos and they select the best ones during the editing session that are presented for the evaluation.
- The teams set off with their list and the mission to return with all of the photographs on it.

EDITING
- After the pre-determined amount of time, the teams meet back at the CLIK gallery where they edit their photos and decide on the ones that best illustrate the different subjects on the list.
- The teams upload their selected photos on to a Google Drive.
- The photos are either printed and mounted on the gallery walls or projected on to a screen.

EVALUATION
- Teams select a member to present their photos to the expert photographer and the other participants.
- The photos are judged on the basis of the criteria explained during the initial presentation, i.e. exposure, perspective, composition, etc.
- The teams discuss and evaluate their experience.
Optional: The evaluation can be accompanied by an aperitif or afternoon tea
Optional: There is the possibility to organise a prize giving...

WHAT IS NEEDED
A camera or smartphone, lots of imagination and a comfortable pair of shoes!

DURATION
The activity is normally two hours but can be adapted to the time you have available.

Merci Suzanne

  • SP and her team at clik-trip photo provide an excellent photo experience. SP lived in Marrakech for several years and knows the city inside & out. She takes you to all the back ally ways/ beautiful archways/ provides great feedback and helps w/your photography ensuring you get the photos you want. SP is friendly & very professional. Well worth the price to see and photograph Marrakech with someone who really knows what she is doing. Highly recommend SP or anyone that works with her.

  • A highlight of my journey throughout Morocco were the two days I spent with SP in Marrakesh. She is a gifted photographer, an inspirational instructor, and an incredibly knowledgable tour guide. I was even sent back to my hotel with a homework assignment. In addition to guiding me on the roads less traveled by tourists, she also introduced me to many locals who were more then happy to have their portraits taken. We spent quite some time standing at one of the entrances into the medina where I was able to photograph a variety of Moroccans from different walks of life as they entered or exited the city. We also spent time in a tannery capturing the scene as well as the different workmen. As we wondered through the medina and souk we often had to fight our way around the donkeys, carts, motorbikes and vehicles. One must keep one’s eyes wide open not only to capture all the special moments, but to live to tell about it. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with SP and hope to meet up with her in another part of the world.

  • I really enjoyed the afternoon.
I discovered the street art. I did’nt know how Grenoble was so rich with these paintings.
Suzan with her kindless and her professional approach was a great guide.
And the little « goûter » was a very nice moment.
Thanks Suzan for this very pleasant afternoon.
