Description

Alexandre Gelin is a French landscape photographer living in the heart of the French Alps. ‘It’s not only the Dolomites and Mont Blanc that make for fantastic locations for landscape photographers!’. Alexandre claims

Join him as he takes you around the alpine regions within an hour and a half of the city of Grenoble – the Vercors, Park Ecrins, Chartreuse and beautiful Belledonne mountains. All geologically different, all producing dramatic backdrops. Cliffs and steep mountains, arches and hidden mountain lakes.

'The main interest of being a photographer is to discover who you are inside. There’s no point going to the same place everyone goes in order to take the same photo in the same way.' Alexandre shows you how to get the shots – not just the classic ones – by making the effort to get off the beaten path. ‘If it’s too easy to reach it doesn’t interest me! I have to have the feeling that it’s an exploration - it’s always an adventure to get to the right place.’

For example, the time when he got lost on a four-day expedition crossing the snow covered Vercors in winter, pulling his equipment in a sledge behind. It was after a snow-storm so there were no visible tracks. Just before nightfall, he was unable to find the cabane to spend the night…

Alexandre will show you how to find your own photographic path – not necessarily the easiest one but that guarantees stunning results!
