About your local photographer

'One of the best outdoor photographers working in the UK today’ Outdoor Photography Magazine, June 2016
I grew up on the south coast of England. My first career was as a solicitor in the City of London. During the City years, my friends and colleagues were used to seeing me return from trips with bags full of exposed film; the developing sometimes cost more than the trip! In 2008, I converted to digital and I say that is when the obsession really set in. In 2000, I left my City career and, after obtaining two more degrees, now works full-time on my photography.
Much of my early childhood was spent at sea. This has left me with a life-long fascination for the ocean in all its forms, but especially in stormy weather. I travel widely for my photographs but retain a special fondness for the South of England and many of my images are created there. For me, nothing beats a day on an empty shore, the wilder the weather the better, and this is reflected in my work. I am best known for my 'Sirens' series, critically-acclaimed photographs of monstrous storm waves, published as a fine art photo-book by Triplekite Books in 2018 and recognised in the Professional Portfolio category of the Sony World Photography Awards 2018.
My photographs have been published in books and both print and online magazines, have been exhibited widely in the UK as well as Barcelona, New York and Massachusetts, and appear in private collections in the UK and USA. I am represented by galleries in Europe and the USA.
I provide photography day tours and workshops in the South of England and lead photography tours for an international fine art business. I am an experienced public speaker, I write for photography magazines, and am the author of two photobooks with a third coming out in Winter 2020.
