About your local photographer

An anthropologist from Barcelona, I started to travel Europe and Northern Africa early in my career, studying several endangered and rare species. Afterwards I devoted myself to herpetology (reptiles and amphibians) and started to write popular and scientific papers on that subject, totalling to date more than 200 papers. My travels and findings especially along the Neotropics (the Tropics of the New World: America), are legendary, and I am considered as one of the most influential herpetologists in the whole area. I now live in Costa Rica, but every year I travel to countries like Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. I have a deep knowledge of Venezuela, a country where I lived for 16 years, before the politics forced me to move to a more peaceful place. Now, I offer expeditions and tours in Central America specifically searching for the most beautiful and amazing amphibians and reptiles. I am also a well-known photographer in this field, and have published countless photos in books and articles and whole articles in journals and magazines around the world.
