TelAvivAbout your local photographer
I’m an Israel based Unplugged Freelance Photographer, IT specialist and Information Security consultant.I became involved in photography by my son in 2005 and passed in a non-conventional way from digital to Analog photography. My start in photography was not too special or different from others, so I will tell you about the early unsuccessful part.
When I was 10-12 years old we traveled with my mother to the place of my birth, some small city located in the north of the western half of Ukraine, about 131 kilometers from Kyiv (Kiev???).
This city was our traditional destination almost every summer. Before this specific trip, I got a very long-awaited gift from my parents – a fantastic Smena-8M type 3b camera with which I can capture the story of our trip (3.800 km in each direction). I shot almost the whole of the first roll but forgot my first film camera in the train on our way home. I am sure that someone found it and even finished the roll. I hope they also developed this roll.
It took me a long 30 years, to get over my deep fear of losing (or forgetting) another camera! Today I use both formats and have even started to develop BW film at home. I’m still searching what I love to photograph – Black and White, Street, Miksang, Portraits, Landscapes and to experiments with different gear. I love to bring some dramatic look to my works. Contrasts, geometry, sometimes emptiness, craziness, happiness, and melancholy are my best friends in this mission. seems like “Life Photography” is the best description of what I do.
“Follow the light !!!” is the best advice that I can give to one who asks me for.
