A journey to Mongolia's far western mountainous Altai region. The story illustrates how Julian traveled to the Altai and spent a week with eagle hunters as well as photographing the eagle festival. The festival encompassing various events that were challenging to photograph and also challenging to western values. Julian will be leading a photo tour in Mongolia's Altai in mid-March 2022 to photograph both the eagle hunters and eagle festival.
Julian is the winner of the 2015 Countryside is GREAT section of the Landscape Photographer of the Year competition and is based in the Loire Valley in France, from where he runs workshops and tours. A freelance landscape and travel photographer, Julian started selling his work through the world-renowned Getty Images as well as writing for a number of British UK photography magazines. He has been a pro for just over 10 years now and to date his work has sold in over 40 countries. He has travelled in over 30 countries capturing the world around him.
