"Studio Photo de la Rue" offers much more than a photo shoot ; A unique experience of laughter and friendliness, with the gift of a picture of this beautiful moment.

The itinerant photography studio, Le Studio Photo de la Rue, created by photographer Fatoumata Diabaté, is a tribute to the fathers of African photography like Malick Sidibé or Seydou Keita. For some years, she has run her own street studio, using fabric from her native Mali, as a distinctive backdrop, along with a few accessories she carries wherever she goes. Passers-by stop, strike a pose and leave their mark. Using techniques and rituals from the glory days of photography in Africa, the photographer brings back enchantment to being photographed and re-introduces a historical dimension and poetry to the art of portraiture.

Above all, she creates a moment out of time of sharing and self-reflection. Every model, is given the time to stage him or herself, to choose their outfit, accessories, to strike a pose and be coached by the artist.
