"Traveling is more than just vacation. Traveling is an act of international understanding. We learn about other cultures and bring with us parts of our own. We travelers are a privileged circle and should not misuse our opportunities. Even if distances today hardly play a role, most of the world's population cannot afford a visit to other countries or continents.
Therefore, every individual is responsible for the impression his culture and his homeland leaves behind him. We should never forget: no matter what skin color we have, in which creator we believe or in what circumstances we live: We are all human beings." - Harald 1996
Photography and travel has a lot in common. Experience something, learn new things, gain different views, share the experience with others.
Discover and tell stories; in words, with pictures. Pass on personal emotions to others. Do not just take a quick photo; think about it and express it in the photo. Go the 3 extra steps for a more interesting photo.
I will not explain how to take the best picture! "The best picture" does not exist. You can evaluate a picture from a technical point of view, from the context, or content. But at the end, the viewer decides whether something is very good or meaningless due to his personal life story. The thoughts and emotions that arise in him when looking at the picture.
I would like to encourage my companions to find their own way, to discover and tell their own stories and show some ways to do so (from an idea to the technique and some tips for post production to give an image the final touch).
Every person is individual, shaped by his experiences. So are the photos we make. That is why small groups are important to me to maintain this individuality. Likewise, there is no standard program. It is customized according to the wishes and needs of the person or group.
Camera, technology and image design are only means to an end. From technology and image design you should at least have some basic knowledge to know when to choose what (settings, framing) for the desired image. The best camera is the one you have with you. All have advantages and disadvantages. Ideally, you choose "the right tool" for the job.
About the differences and which camera / lens for which purpose we can entertain ourselves.
It is important to me that everyone feels comfortable and takes a good overall impression home. So many "technical" points will probably be forgotten, but the overall impression will be preserved for a long time. At the latest when viewing the pictures in 10 or 20 years, when the photos revive the forgotten memories again.
Still interested? Then let me know what I can do for you.
You have a project in mind and need (local) assistance / a photographer / a filmmaker?
Besides photography, you are also interested in filming?
You want to discover lesser known places in Austria, Italy or other parts in the world?
You are tired of tourist traps and want to see the world from a locals point of view?
Different group size?
Or you have something completely different in mind?
Just let me know. The more I know in advance, the better I can live up to expectations.
