South Africa - 7 - Day Private Safari - Kruger Park

+ More details

Description

What’s on your bucket list? An African Big 5 Safari in the iconic world-famous Kruger National Park? The chance to get amazing photos of the stunning birds and mammals Kruger has to offer? We invite you to book an intimate, affordable, private African safari in Kruger Park with award-winning Africa Geographic-published wildlife photography guide Ernest Porter. This is a PERFECT way for South African citizens to go on a privately guided photography safari and for International citizens to easily visit Kruger National Park without breaking the budget.

Up to 2 clients will join Ernest in our private vehicle on an African Wildlife Safari in iconic Kruger National Park. It’s home to the Big 5: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. We’ll be on the lookout for hippo, crocodile, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, impala, kudu, cheetah, mongoose, wild dogs, dozens of bird species, and so much more–just browse our photos on our website or on Facebook to see what we see on our safaris.

Our private safaris are designed to watch and photograph wildlife. Ernest will coach your photography skills to help you achieve your goals and learn a few new tricks. Everyone is welcome, from absolute beginners to advanced photographers to non-photographers who just want to watch the animals. Our private vehicle has Gimbal camera mounts if you require stabilization for heavy equipment. We can even assist you in renting professional camera equipment if you want to take great photos but don’t know how--and don’t worry, we will teach and assist you at every step!

We will start every morning with coffee or tea and a snack, then set out on a minimum 3-hour game drive to see what happened in the wild while we were sleeping. Lions and leopards are usually still active, so we’ll see if they’ve hunted overnight. Elephants are just starting their day, and perhaps we’ll see a hippo out of the water—they travel long distances at night. We’ll watch for the iconic bird species in the Park--the brightly colored Lilac-Breasted Roller, eagle and hawk species, cuckoos, bee-eaters, and more. Ernest will teach you how to take incredible birds-in-flight photos if you’d like!

This is YOUR trip, so there are no time limits on game drives other than Camp gate open/closing times. Typically, animals aren’t active during mid-day, so we’ll stop back at the Camp for a break…but if we see something amazing, we’ll stay out as long as you’d like! After we return to the Camp, we’ll have a delicious breakfast or brunch at the restaurant. You can relax by the pool, take a short nap or enjoy our complimentary photography and Lightroom/Photoshop workshop.

We will head back out for our evening game drive around 15:00, when the big cats start getting active after the heat of the day. If we’re lucky, we’ll watch lions or leopards hunt! Elephants will be at the waterhole, giraffe should be browsing the tops of the trees, and maybe some wild dogs or cheetah will pass by. We are looking for everything, big and small, as we experience the magic of a balanced ecosystem.

After we return to the Camp, we’ll socialize and talk about our day before moving to the restaurant for a delicious dinner.

Typical itinerary for each day (Fully adjustable as you wish):
Coffee & a snack, then the morning game drive.
A delicious breakfast at the restaurant upon return to the Camp or brunch if we return late.
Mid-day Free Time-- if you are a photographer, this is when we’ll work on our included Lightroom/Photoshop/Photography courses;
Wildlife gets active after the heat of midday, so we’ll go on an afternoon game drive from 15:00 until the gates close;
Dinner at the restaurant upon return to the Camp;
Bed-time in your private bungalow.
On our last day, we’ll go on the morning game drive and have breakfast, with departure between 10:30-11:00. We can take you back to the OR Tambo Airport area in Johannesburg if you’d like.
